With over 30 years of manufacturing experience since 1994, Huazuan has analyzed thousands of cutting failures. Here is how you can troubleshoot and fix the most common issues to keep your production line running smoothly.
Hard Stone (e.g., Quartzite/Granite): Requires a soft bond to ensure the diamond grit is exposed fast enough.
Abrasive/Soft Stone (e.g., Sandstone): Requires a hard bond to prevent the segments from wearing down prematurely.
Pro Tip: If your blade is "glazing over" (the surface feels smooth), you are likely using a bond that is too hard for the material. Try cutting into a dressing stone or a firebrick to re-expose the diamonds.
Over-speeding causes excessive heat, leading to segment loss or "wobbling."
Under-speeding prevents the diamonds from fracturing and self-sharpening, leading to a dull blade.
Huazuan’s Technical Standard: Always check the Peripheral Speed (m/s) recommended for your blade diameter. For granite, 25-35 m/s is typically the "sweet spot" for balanced life and speed.
Ensure the water jet is hitting the cutting point directly.
If the water contains too much stone sediment (slurry), it acts like sandpaper, wearing away the steel core before the segments are even finished. This leads to the dreaded "lost segment" in the middle of a cut.
A professional diamond saw blade isn't just a metal disk with segments. At Huazuan, our steel cores are heat-treated and tensioned to handle high centrifugal forces. If your blade starts vibrating or making a high-pitched screaming sound, the core might have lost its tension. Continuous use in this state will cause uneven wear and poor cutting precision.
